Valentines Day

Hello Everybody!

Oh how I have enjoyed this Valentines day so much! I know there are very mixed emotions when it comes to this "Holiday", but I happen to love it. If you know me, you know how I love any excuse to celebrate, and if I can have a whole day to celebrate all the people I love then count me IN!

On actual Valentines Day I was still in Arizona, so John and I, decided we would celebrate the following weekend! We started our day off by making breakfast together, which is one of my favorite things to do on the weekends. In honor of the Holiday we made heart shaped cinnamon rolls!

I mean COME ON! How freaking cute are these!

After we ate breakfast we exchanged some little gifts! John got me the most beautiful flowers from a local flower company, Flowers for Dreams, who makes the most stunning bouquets I've ever seen.

These flowers came wrapped in burlap, which I am obsessed with. They have so many different designs you can choose from, but these were PERFECT for Valentines Day. I know at this point, we are past the holiday, but if you have a birthday, anniversary, or want to do something nice for someone I 100% recommend getting these flowers! They are local to the Chicagoland area, and a portion of every order is donated to a local charity!

I got John (and lets be honest, for myself too) a Retroviewer! I stumbled across one of these online, and I instantly knew I had to get it! You design your own reel, with whatever pictures you'd like! I tried to pick some of our favorite memories throughout the year. I thought this would be such a fun gift to look back on over the years, and enjoy all the different memories.

Here is a little look inside at one of the pictures! Again this would be a great gift for any occasion!

After we cleaned up breakfast, and exchanged gifts, we went on a long walk to enjoy the weather! It's very rare that we hit 70 degrees in the middle of February *cough global warming cough*, but we were going to soak it all in!

That evening we went to our very first Second City show! If you live in Chicago you NEED to go because, pardon my language, they are fucking hilarious. By the time we left my face hurt from laughing so hard for two hours straight! Seriously people, go.

Once we left Second City, we went and had dinner, then met some of our friends out! This day was a perfect representation of mine and John's relationship. We love cooking, exploring new parts of the Chicago, laughing our asses off, and spending time together. I truly wouldn't have changed a thing.

As a disclaimer: I don't think it needs to be a special occasion to do any of these things! If you live in Chicago, and need some fun things to do, support local businesses, go to a comedy show, and try a new restaurant. It makes for such an amazing weekend!

Hope you all enjoyed!

XO
