Restaurant Round-Up & Recipe

Aloha Readers! ;)

Over the past few weeks I have tried out some really cool new restaurants, and I wanted to share them with you guys! These spots would be perfect for a date night, or a night out with friends, regardless I would recommend them to anybody.

The first restaurant is: Rhyme or Reason

This restaurant is a 70's inspired theme, with a wide menu that has no 'Rhyme or Reason' (LOL). It is decorated very modern, and there is a ton of stuff to look at! It makes for a great atmosphere, and a fun experience. For an appetizer we got street corn, and for our entrée we got a buffalo cheese margarita pizza. Both extremely good!

This is one of their modern decorations LOL

This drink is called the "Super Freak", and it was to die for. 10/10 would recommend.

Street Corn might be my new favorite food

The next restaurant I went to was: Mahalo

This restaurant is SOO cute, oh my goodness! It is a Hawaiian themed restaurant, that makes me want Summer right this second. This restaurant is two stories, and in the summer has an amazing rooftop! I definitely need to go back when it's nice out. To start out we got potstickers, which were cooked/seared to perfection. For my main meal I got this huge piece of pork with a Hawaiian roll (the best), and we all split a side of Togarashi Fries. I'm not exactly sure what spices they put on the fries, but they were very good. I would definitely recommend getting those & splitting them with a group because they are huge!

I was so focused on the cute decorations I forgot to take pictures of the food, but I promise it's yummy.

This light up sign is the CUTEST thing.

Just swinging around ;)

What I would do to be in Hawaii right now, especially with snow coming. Major UGH.

Those lights + those plants are everything

Castigan got this Pineapple beer, and loved it. Since Whole 30 I haven't had the desire to casually drink anymore, so I didn't try it, but he said it was amazing!

The last restaurant I went to was: Bar Siena

I went to Bar Siena with four of my friends, and we all loved it! This restaurant is in West Loop, so I would definitely recommend getting a reservation to avoid a long wait. We started off by getting two appetizers; the meatballs & this flatbread with arugula, prosciutto, honey, and cheese, oh my godddddd, it was incredible. I could have eaten the whole thing by myself. For our main meal we got two pizzas. One of them had brussels sprouts, and spicy sausage. I know this sounds a little strange, but it was honestly incredible. I need more of that pizza in my life. The second pizza was a cheese & mushroom, which was pretty good, but not as good as the first one!

You can't see the prosciutto, cheese, or honey, under all that arugula, but oh my it is there.

These meatballs are heavenly, ugh I'm getting hungry writing this.

It was definitely too late to take a picture of the pizza, but this is what you find when it's gone LOL

On top of all of this yummy restaurant food I figured I would also share one of mine, and John's, favorite recipes! It is a homemade buffalo chicken pizza, and it is DELICIOUS.

Ingredients:

1. Pizza Crust

2. Ranch

3. Franks Red Hot Sauce (the best ever)

4. Shredded Chicken

5. Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheese

6. Optional Crushed Red Pepper

While preparing the pizza set the oven to whatever temperature the crust packaging suggests, I typically do 400.

For this recipe I get the whole wheat pre-made crust from Target. You can use any pizza crust you like, I just prefer that one.

Instructions:

1. Take the crust out of the packaging, and place it on a baking sheet.

2. Spread the ranch on the pizza crust, like you would red sauce. Leave a little room around the edge for the crust.

3. Once the ranch is spread out, add the shredded chicken. I usually get the cooked shredded chicken from Target, and then just chop it up a little bit more.

4. Once the chicken is added, I drizzle some Franks sauce on it.

5. Then I add mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top of that. I put a pretty good coat of mixed cheese on there so you can't see the chicken underneath.

6. Add more Franks sauce on top of the cheese, and sprinkle a little crushed red pepper.

7. Put the pizza in the oven for about 20 minutes, checking periodically. I like my pizza golden brown/a little crispy, so if you don't I would take it out before 20 minutes.

I mean come onnnnnnn, amazing

I could eat this every single day

Well now that I am extremely hungry, I hope you enjoyed this post, and give these restaurants/recipe a try! All of the restaurants are linked, so check out the menus, I promise they are all worth it! :)

XO

-Kayla

(PS: I just realized most of the food in here is pizza.. but it's literally the best food. So. Whatever. But the restaurants have way more food than just pizza, it was honestly a coincidence)
